Side note on Side Tables

The garden continues to come along. I've planted tulips, roses, pansies, violas, geraniums, crocuses, and more with still even more to come. It's starting to look like Provence out there! While enjoying the weather the other day in one of two patio chairs I found discarded on my block last summer, I realized that there is a key element missing. A side table. No outdoor lounging is complete without a table to rest your book and your cocktail, or glass of wine. So I've begun looking at some options. I don't want to spend much, so everything is under $100. What do you think?

Tried and true: The Wood Clan

Nice and airy with a punch of color.

Iron maidens.

Wild Card!  It's not under a $100, but it's so close and I thought it was too cool not to include!

What do you think?  Any favorites? Leave your thoughts.

Bringing Nature Home by Ngoc Minh Ngo (Rizzoli)

I've been trying to carve out time to put up some book posts this week, but I've been swamped with activities and apologize for my slacking off. However, today I have a great new book that I hope will make up for my absence. You may have heard of this one already as publicity for it is popping up everywhere, and deservedly so. Bringing Nature Home is the new photo book from phenomenal interior, food, and garden photographer, Ngoc Minh Ngo. Her passion for the seasons, plants, and the home are all on display in this Rizzoli-published book, which she put together with help from well-known floral designer, Nicolette Owen, of Brooklyn's Little Flower School. There a million places to get full-on reviews of this beautiful book, so I'm going to let you follow those links at the bottom of this post for those. But first, here is a taste of the breathtaking photography of idyllic tableaux you'll find inside.

If you are in the New York Area, you are in luck! There are several opportunities coming up to meet Ngoc Minh Ngo and Nicolette Owen. They've teamed up with West Elm in Chelsea for an upcoming book launch party, a floral pop-up shop, and a flower arranging class- all of which are open to the public. For details click here!

To read more about Bringing Nature Home, be sure to check out the current issues of Martha Stewart Living, House Beautiful, and Garden Design. Of course, to purchase the book itself, go here, or purchase a signed copy at West Elm next Tuesday, April 10!
